I Never Want To Get Old

Oct 15, 2009 -- 9:11am

It's always a pleasure to meet artists who are down to earth and who don't take themselves too seriously.  I was introduced to just such a band yesterday, when we had Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers play for us in the River Music Hall.  They were fabulous!!  Not only are they talented musicians, they are also genuinely nice and really funny guys!

As it happens, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers attended my alma mater, UMASS Amherst, and they even included the UMASS Marching band in their video for Shady Esperanto and the Young Hearts.  I love seeing the UMASS landscape in the background!  The song is great, and you gotta love the chorus, "I don't wanna get old!"

I've posted the video, enjoy :)

Pumpkins

Sep 15, 2009 -- 10:00am

With Fall approaching, the shelves and menus of some of my favorite places are filling up with new Fall flavors, and currently, I am into all things pumpkin!  Coffee, beer, ice cream, candles...I mean really, what's not to love??  Not to mention, the fruit itself is so multifaceted!  You can put it in a pie, carve a face into it, toast the seeds, or simply put one on your front steps to admire.  Make sure you take part in some form of pumpkin appreciation this Fall!  You won't be disappointed!
